“this is one of the most stupendous live acts around.” – The Guardian
“they call their new album ‘Half the City’, but the whole country needs a shot of vocalist Paul Janeway’s old-school soul group.” – USA Today

Electrifying soul septet St. Paul & The Broken Bones has announced dates for their early 2015 European tour, in March (see dates below). St. Paul & The Broken Bones have been touring almost nonstop throughout the U.S. and Europe, with a myriad of sold out shows, national television performances and major music festival debuts in support of their debut album Half The City. Released in May in Europe, Half The City continues to gain new fans at each and every show with their sweat-soaked, gutbucket, horn-infused brand of Muscle Shoals/Stax-influenced R&B. NPR Music said of their live shows, “The mighty Paul Janeway embodies Clark Kent’s transformation into Superman every time he opens his mouth, and his band of Alabama kids turned sweet soul masters makes sure he can fly.”
2014 has been an incredible year thus far for the Birmingham Alabama-based ensemble. They made their US network TV debut on CBS Saturday Morning, followed by appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,Jimmy Kimmel Live and an upcoming performance on The Steve Harvey Show later this year. In Europe they have appeared live on Jo Whiley and Dermot O’Leary on Radio 2 and  had a playlist for their debut single “Call Me”; WDR News filmed them live in Cologne, VPRO 3voor12  filmed the band live at the Into The Great Wide Open Festival in Holland  and in France the band filmed a captivating two-song ‘Take Away Show’ performance outdoors for the acclaimed La Blogotheque, sans amps and PA, guerrilla style at the Louvre on the same day they were live on France Inter.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones gave a show-stopping performance during the Americana Music Association Honors & Awards show in September, where they were nominated for 2014 Emerging Artist Of The Year. “St. Paul & Broken Bones are shaping up as one of 2014’s most impressive DIY stories,” said The Hollywood Reporter and the astonishing review from the END of the Road FESTIVAL in September by the Guardian,“this is one of the most stupendous live acts around.”  put a voice to the reaction globally wherever the band has ventured since their launch earlier  this year.

The Band are coming back to tour Europe in March 2015.  Get those White Dancing Shoes Ready..

St. Paul and the Broken Bones

St. Paul & The Broken Bones have already garnered much attention due to their high-energy live performances, led by charismatic front man Paul Janeway. The group’s sweat-soaked, take-no prisoners style has converted many, including Paste Magazine, who named St. Paul & The Broken Bones one of their “2013 Best Of What’s Next” artists, and NPR Music, who included the album in their “Under The Radar Albums Preview”. Half The City oozes with key elements of Memphis soul, Muscle Shoals R&B and the Motown experience, which lay solid ground for Jane- way’s expressive vocals.

“Within ten seconds of hearing Paul Janeway’s voice – secondhand on a friend’s cellphone – I was in. The first five was spent in disbelief. I can count on one hand the times that’s happened. I admit it took a bit to hear past him. The beautiful thing was that the band was and is every bit as good. The same swagger, conviction, and – dare I say – soul. That’s saying something. What sealed the deal was the songwriting, the arrangements, the dynamics – all the things that comes with having been a unit for many more years than they have. And then I experienced them live.”
– John Paul White

Parker Millsap, ‘the Okie phenom, is way better than he should he should yet be, with that baby face and no license to drink.’ (Austin American Stateman) releases ‘Old Time Religion.’ on April 1st 2014

ep album cover

“8/10” – Uncut

“With Millsap, what hits you first is the voice: soulful, gravelly, whiskey-laced, and wielded like a world-weary prophet. But it’s not just raw talent. He also demonstrates a deep affinity for the Texan school of singer-songwriters like Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen, meaning that the songs are just as impressive as the performances.”  –

“Parker Millsap has accumulated quite a following with his vivid storytelling and gospel-tinged inspiration..” – PASTE

‘Don’t take my word for it, simply taste and see that Parker Millsap’s music is good.’ – Maverick

20-year-old Parker Millsap will make you a true believer with his forthcoming self-titled debut album. An Oklahoma native brought up in the Pentecostal church, which he’s since departed, the young tunesmith delivers his religious-laced parables, character-driven narratives and relationship tales with the fire-and-brimstone fervor of a preacher, restoring our faith in the power of song. Having toured with such notable artists as Old Crow Medicine Show, John Fullbright, Devil Makes Three to name a few, Millsap is a tough soul, ready to share those Oklahoma roots with the rest of the country, and, hopefully, the world.

Thirty Tigers Europe is to introduce Parker Millsap with an EP comprising two tracks from his upcoming self-titled album, ‘Old Time Religion’ and ‘The Villain’ as well as including an awe inspiring version of  ‘You Gotta Move’ recorded live at eTown. Parker’s music and performance has been converting fans at a roaring speed as the release builds momentum and he hits SXSW this week.  He is destined to launch his album in the  UK this summer live and tour this autumn throughout Europe… NOT ONE TO MISS.

‘… She does down n dirty blues, evokes Janis Joplin, goes acoustic for the tender, and contributes tasty slide and knopfleresque runs. Marshall’s powerhouse persona dominates, winningly…Uncut Magazine UK

Bex Marshall’s unique style of guitar playing is a combined technique of slide, blues rock, ragtime and roots pickin’. Her voice is a powerful melting pot of old black woman’s heartache and rock diva soul. Bex is a writer of distinction and notability, she pushes the boundaries of blues, her songs have been called timeless, touches of genius, and now with her 7 piece band, she is literally a musical tornado. On Bex’s new album ‘House of Mercy’ you will find swamp blues, splashes of gospel and colorful bluegrass; all with an exciting, lyrically British twist.   ‘ ….you can see why Bex Marshall a talent to watch…Classic Rock Magazine UK

A Devonshire lass now residing in London, Bex is the product of two very different families, one blue blooded landed gentry, the other Irish Romany. At 11 years old she was given a 1963 Gibson Hummingbird by her Uncle David and immediately started playing. She got hooked on instrumentals and classical guitar standards which stretched her fingers and gave her a great knowledge base from which  her own music was  to develop. This included flamenco, ragtime, country chicken pickin’, rock and on to blues and roots where she is now in her element.

She always had a passion for travelling, its in her blood and from  training to be a croupier at 18, she began her travels around the world working gaming tables on cruise liners, in Park Lane and  even dealing illegal poker games in Amsterdam. She hitch hiked the coast of Australia on cattle trains and was always to be seen with a guitar on her back,  living and storing tales.

Muyiwa is Britain’s biggest gospel singer and songwriter, the one who more than any other is helping to popularise the form and bring it to a wider audience by mixing it up with elements of world music (from Africa, the Caribbean and Asia), soul, R&B and pop. In 2009 Muyiwa was the first international artist to appear on the American BET channel at the annual “Celebration of Gospel”. A year later he was the first UK Gospel act to sell out the Indigo O2 London. In 2011 the the Grammy Award winning Kevin Bond produced album ‘Declaring His Name all around the World”  by Muyiwa & Roversongz reached number five on Amazons World Music Best-Sellers, while its predecessor ‘Declaring His Love’ held the no 1 spot in the hmv blues and soul chart for five consecutive months.

It is not just through singing, that Muyiwa’s deep rich voice has reached millions in Europe, Africa and the USA, but also through his work as a broadcaster. He has a late-night show on London’s Premier Radio, (where he presents their flagship Gospel Tonight and Worship Tonight programmes), and has won numerous awards, including Best Presenter at the Oasis Awards (2006), Best Radio Show and Best Contribution to Gospel Music at the Gospel Music Awards (2009).

Muyiwa Olarewaju has a life story packed full of the stuff that films are made of.  After spending his early childhood years in Nigeria, his parents sent him and his brothers and sisters to live  in London where they were split up and passed from house to house among a series of distant family members and friends. An experience for Muyiwa that at best could be described as unsettling, and at worst traumatic. It was during this time that Muyiwa found the church and music, both of which helped set him on a more positive path. He learnt to play piano, studied a degree in music from Westminster University, and went on to work for Channel 4 and then Sony Music.  Things finally seemed to be going well for Muyiwa when a period of terrible misfortune began. His younger brother, (who was 14 at the time), got involved in an armed robbery and was sent back to Nigeria where he later got shot himself by an armed robber. Following this Muyiwa’s father was shot dead by an armed assassin. A few years later he also lost his mother, when she was killed in a horrific car accident. Once again, it was music and the church that helped Muyiwa through such difficult times, as is evident from listening to any one of Muyiwa and Riversongz five previous albums.
